Bestselling crime authors Abir Mukherjee and Vaseem Khan have both written tales of murder set in historical India.
In this conversation they will examine the critical period of Indian history from the 1920s to just after Indian Independence in 1947. In these three decades the Quit India movement, led by Gandhi, achieved its goal of ousting the British - but at a heavy cost.
Through the lens of their crime fiction, Abir and Vaseem will bring to life an era that has helped shape the modern India that we know today.
Using the power of poetry to educate people about dementia. Local poet Catherine Scott is working with East Riding secondary schools around the theme of dementia. Young people will perform their poetry at library reminiscence sessions, for those living with dementia and their carers. A project we are excited to be piloting in the East Riding.
