Little readers have lots of opportunities to talk to our authors. There will be terrific tales, creative crafts and fantastic facts! Celebrate the love of reading and inspire their imaginations with our line-up of children's events.
Why do we need bugs in our garden? Learn about good and bag bugs, where they live and why they are struggling to find homes, and how we can encourage more of them in our world. We will be making a hotel for bugs out of everyday materials foraged from your home and the outside world.

Make our hotel comfortable with anything you can find when out exploring, or in the garden. Check with an adult to make sure it’s safe to pick up, and doesn’t harm any wildlife.

Using the power of poetry to educate people about dementia. Local poet Catherine Scott is working with East Riding secondary schools around the theme of dementia. Young people will perform their poetry at library reminiscence sessions, for those living with dementia and their carers. A project we are excited to be piloting in the East Riding.
